Reverend Jimmie L. Bruton is a resident of Greer, South Carolina and a native of the Greer area.  He is married to Melva Gilliam Bruton. To this 46-year union they have two children, Tamilia Monique, and Seth; a daughter-in-law, Jeannie, four grandchildren and two great-grand children.

His primary and secondary education was in the Greenville County School District. He furthered his education at Greenville Technical College and North Greenville University for religious studies.

Rev. Bruton is currently the Pastor of the New Faith Baptist Church Wellford, South Carolina where he has served for twelve years and has over 30 years pastoral experience.

His religious and community affiliations include Past President of the Upstate Fellowship of Churches and Past President of the (I.M.A.) Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Greer and Vicinity where he still serves as a member. He is currently on the planning board of the Breaking Bread for Jesus Soup Kitchen Ministry that is coming to the Wellford Community.

His motto and attitude is to experience every day the Joy of His Salvation and to be happy in Jesus. Continually realizing that the saving of Souls is serious as that is what his ministry and his life is all about. Regardless of what great things can be said about a man, the thing that matters is what God knows about him as He will have the Final Say! Only what we do to HIS glory and honor will last.

If there is any honor and if there be any praise it belongs to God! Reverend Bruton feels very thankful to be an instrument in His service.

For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord: and ourselves Your servants for Jesus’ Sake.
